Tokyo Gallery + BTAP announces《Invisible Space》, a solo exhibition by South Korean artist Kang Wook Lee opening Saturday 5 April.
 
Born in 1976, Lee Kang Wook obtained his master’s degree in oil painting from Hongik University in 2003 and has gone on to exhibit actively both within South Korea and overseas. Lee graduated from the Chelsea College of Art and Design in 2013 and is currently based in London.

Lee’s works are multilayered and make use of pencil, acrylic, beads, gouache and other materials. Points and lines intermingle on white planes, creating images reminiscent of outer space or the cells of organisms. Lee’s suggestive techniques evoke images that we are not able to view directly, such as vast spaces and microscopic spaces.

《Invisible Space》showcases 15 of Lee Kang Wook’s recent works, including some on large canvases. Through these works, Lee portrays on canvas his comprehensive worldview, invoking microscopic images, images of outer space, and even ancient Indian philosophy. The artist will be in attendance at the exhibition opening on 5 April. All are welcome and are encouraged to let others know about this exhibition.
